Practical Magic

Magic draws the attention of many people, even those who may not believe in anything. The unknown always causes concern. Supernatural and unexplained phenomena cast doubt on the viability of the materialist conception of the world even the most dedicated of skeptics.
    Knowledge of magic and secret laws of nature are traditionally passed down from masters to disciples in an unbroken chain. Witches and sorcerers were looking for a suitable candidate, able to digest and implement knowledge. But, apart from witches and wizards almost all ordinary mortals have a basic understanding of the subtle matters, which is reflected in popular superstitions, magic in the everyday home, in the legends and belief in signs and prophetic dreams.
