Pranic healing and yoga therapy.

   Yoga therapy

   Various methods have been worked out in Yoga for preventive health care, treatment and after-illness rehabilitation. Yoga therapy is a health-improving system implemented in India along with official medicine. Healing yoga is a part of yogic traditions and includes other practices as well. Such health disorders as insomnia, constipations, superacidity, asthma and bronchitis get treated and some illnesses namely cardiovascular diseases, menstrual cycle disorders, obesity, cancer and many others get stanched through yoga therapy. Curative power of yoga therapy yields such amazing results that it has been recognized as able to cure sclerosis, cerebral palsy and osteoporosis. Practicing yoga under the guidance of a specialist, a patient may not only recover from diseases but also improve his health soundly as compared to its state before falling ill. Yoga yields a marked rejuvenating effect and also lets a person get control over his body’s functions such as blood pressure, heart rate and metabolism etc. According to scientific researches, people practicing yoga systematically are less fear and anxiety-prone and more stress-resistant as well as enjoy normal blood pressure and great power of physical endurance. Yoga therapy is an integrated approach to the health care that includes physical and breathing exercises, massage and balanced diet, taking Ayurvedic medications, meditation and autogenic training.
 
   Pranic healing


   One of the most important aspects of yoga therapy is pranic healing. Prana is vital energy thanks to which we live. It is also called «vital air». Prana is existent everywhere even in vacuum. But Prana stays in a dormant «sleeping»condition in inanimate substances whereas it is active in a living body. Pranic healing is an efficient and safe method of cure requiring no body contact and easily mastered. However, it is far from being just passing hands round the body in order to relieve the pains. This system is based on in-depth understanding of energies functioning and is successfully practiced in all life areas. Pranic healing technique is an excellent preventive as it lets detect pathologic processes in the body long before a disease manifests itself physically. It is much more complicated to treat a disease when a doctor has already diagnosed it than at its early stages when a disease just springs up as a minor abnormality. A pranic healer examines the state of a patient’s biofield, cleans and energizes it and balances energies streams. This aspect of healing yoga is based on two natural laws 1) a body is self-curative and 2) prana (or vital energy) maintains health and sustains life of a physical body. A physical body is closely connected with a subtle energy body and a physical body’s state depends on an energy body’s one. The cleaning of an energy body leads to positive changes in biochemical processes and hastens the recovery of a physical body. Pranic healing is not religion and it is not necessary for a healer or patient to belong to some certain confession. Pranic healing may be practiced by the Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, atheists and just anybody. An energy system of all people of any nationality and denomination functions according to the same laws independent of outward differences.
 
   Energies balance

   There are two main types of energies in our energy system. Life and health of a physical body are maintained by vital energy and functions of mind are sustained by mental energy. Practicing yoga long and regularly, a person exerts mild influence over seven main chakras of his body, which physical projections are tentatively positioned at the level of defined portions of the vertebral column. The total number of chakras in human body is much more than seven. There are hundreds of them. Chakras are located in legs and arms. A few of essential ones are also in the head. But main chakras located along the vertebral column are seven in number. A practitioner specifies the direction of vital and mental energies running through all chakras. Illnesses are the result of imbalance in these energies’ proportions. Most illnesses spring up in mind in subtle form. Then this negative impulse runs through all the body and again returns to the brain now in the nature of painful stimulus. Human mind is of great power and might and a body falls in line with it. Having believed the presence of an illness, the mind once more sends the negative energy of anxiety through a body, which returns again and intensifies the pain. This process is cyclic. An illness gains strength this way and returns again and again. And mind maintains this vicious circle. The mind dominates a physical body and dictates to it the way to feel itself. Pranic healing (just as the whole system of yoga therapy) helps to attain the balance between mental and vital energies and eliminate pathological conflicts between them. Systematic practicing of yoga and pranic healing calms the mind and trains mental energy to get synchronized with vital energy and function not destructively but creatively. The balance of energies is achieved only when the mind stops being anxious. We even pay no heed to how much our thoughts are chaotic and unquiet and to what extent they complicate our life. We are used to it as if the anxiety is our normal state. But that is abnormal. Yoga provides us with the possibility to return to our normal and healthy state of placidity and harmony, which is absolutely natural for humans in sober fact. Mental activity depends on the breathing directly. The more anxious a person gets the more frequently he breathes. And the calmer he is the more rarely he breathes. So Pranayama breathing exercises help to calm the mind and achieve the inner balance efficiently.
